Daily Scripture – January 28, 2018

Join us for worship this Sunday, Jan. 28 @ 10:45 am when we begin a new series ‘Together’. “The greatest disease facing humanity right now is a profound sense of disconnection.” Richard Rohr. This series will explore a theology of Connection.  We feel a keen sense of separation, from God, from others, from ourselves, but we want to tune into the most ancient truth that we are forever joined together to God, and are never on the OUTSIDE of God’s love.

Scriptures for this week Monday-Friday are taken from the Lectionary Year A; scriptures for Saturday & Sunday will help you prepare for the worship service on Jan. 28.

Daily Scripture for Today: Genesis 18:1-15

There are many ways to engage with scripture…here are 2 of them!

1. Use the Divine Reading (Lectio Divina) method of Praying the Scriptures. Listen while you read it slowly. Meditate on what you hear. Speak to God your prayer, thoughts, questions. Rest in God’s presence, let His presence wash over you as you sit in quiet.

2. SOAP – Scripture (read it) Observe (ask questions, research, etc) Apply (What does say to me in the present?) Pray (let God know what you’re thinking or questioning)
