Daily Scripture – November 30, 2017

Scriptures for this week are taken from the Lectionary Year A.

Join us for 1st Advent Worship on Sunday, Dec. 3 anytime between 8am-12noon. You are welcome to come for coffee/tea and hang out in the gathering space and when you’re ready, you are welcome to enter the worship centre to participate in the many forms of worship that will be available to you including a prayer labyrinth. Advent is a season of waiting…this Sunday we will focus on Waiting in Silence.

Daily Scripture for Today: 1 Corinthians 1:1-9

There are many ways to engage with scripture…here are 2 of them!

1. Use the Divine Reading (Lectio Divina) method of Praying the Scriptures. Listen while you read it slowly. Meditate on what you hear. Speak to God your prayer, thoughts, questions. Rest in God’s presence, let His presence wash over you as you sit in quiet.

2. SOAP – Scripture (read it) Observe (ask questions, research, etc) Apply (What does say to me in the present?) Pray (let God know what you’re thinking or questioning)
