Mennonite Church Manitoba Update

Mennonite Church Manitoba Update

Summer is on its way and we are gearing up for camp! The leadership teams have one more prep week before Staff Training Week begins July 1st. We will have close to 80 staff at Camp Assiniboia learning and playing together, getting ready to welcome children and adults with disabilities to our two sites the following week. Thank you for your support of our staffing community! (note: male staff are still needed for July 8-13 and July 19-August 3)

Volunteers still needed! We are still in need of kitchen and maintenance volunteers at both camps, as well as camp pastors. Please call 895-CAMP or email [email protected] if you can help out.

Mennonite Church Canada is seeking an Executive Minister to lead our nationwide church. We invite your prayers for the process and for the person God is calling to this role. The Search Committee would be pleased to receive your suggestions for possible candidates. Inquiries or suggestions may be sent to [email protected].  We are looking to the Lord, and listening to the Spirit as we discern together.

Story and Song Circle @ Home Street Mennonite Church: Participatory story tellers and singer song writers are invited to bring their original short stories and songs to a gathering of artistically inclined writers and musician/singers to share around a circle for peer-led improvement. Join in on the last Sunday of the month (June 24), 7 pm, at Home Street Mennonite Church,  318 Home St. For more details contact Dan Dyck via [email protected].

Ride for Refuge event – Saturday, Sept 29. Mennonite Church Canada is once again inviting its congregational family to participate in this fun, nationwide bike-a-thon/walk in support of our international Witness ministry. As the Ride for Refuge website indicates: “The Ride for Refuge is a family-friendly cycling and walking fundraiser that supports charities who provide refuge and hope for displaced, vulnerable and exploited people everywhere.”  Please visit the Ride website: https://rideforrefuge.org/charity/mennonitechurchca
