As the Harvest comes to an end, and we enjoy Fall in the air, we would like to update you on the operations at The Rhineland Area Food Bank.
We are holding our own, despite the many challenges that COVID-19 has brought to our world. We have been having the clients line up outside and have been admitting them into the building one at a time; however, now that the weather is getting cooler, we will be returning indoors. We will have five clients sit upstairs, two metres apart, and will send them down to the food room, one at a time. Everyone in the building must be masked.
As most of you may know, every fall the local church youth groups hold an annual town and area food drive that helps stock our shelves. Alas, this event, like so many others, has fallen victim to COVID-19.
This year, as usual, we are focusing on purchasing basic menu items…
Bread, Potatoes, Dried Beans, Rice, Pasta, Mr. Noodle, Macaroni & Cheese, Dry Noodle Soup, Cereal, Oatmeal, Peanut Butter
Canned goods: Pork & Beans, Kidney Beans, Juice, Fruit, Vegetables, Meat/Fish, Soups
Cheques may be made payable to the Rhineland Area Food Bank. If preferable, E-transfers can be made to firstname.lastname@example.org.
