Dear Seeds Community:
First, we want to announce our intention to once again meet in person beginning February 13 @10:45am. (Of course we will continue to follow the Public Health guidelines for gathering, etc.). We know that things can change quickly but this our hope right now.
Second, this Sunday is an “A” Sunday in our Hybrid Model, but we plan on doing things a little differently so that we can have an important conversation around Seeds making a formal statement on LGBTQ+ inclusion in our congregation. We will do some singing, praying and engagement with all ages like a normal “A” Sunday, but we will spend a big chunk of the morning sharing about our process as a congregation over the last 10 years and how the leadership of Seeds believes its time for the next step.
Most recently, during our Next20 Visioning conversations just prior to the pandemic hitting us, there was strong affirmation from our congregation and Leadership that as Seeds moved into the future, we would grow in our values of openness, connectedness and responsiveness, by becoming even more diverse and inclusive in our church life. On February 13, it is our hope to share the direction we are moving in.

Third, to help everyone engage this conversation in the best way, next week we will be providing some opportunities to learn more about the conversations we have had over the years and how it has led us to this moment. The following will be provided.
- Early next week we will provide a document – A Proposal of Intent for Seeds Church to become a Formally Affirming/Inclusive Church. This will include a historical timeline and the reasons for moving in this direction.
- Because a document can only say so much, check out the latest Defining the Relationship Podcast to provide even more context and background on our intentions and our conversation among Seeds Vision Team.
It is our hope that you will find a way to access these opportunities, to help you prepare to gather as a church family to engage this important direction. If you have any questions or things to share, please contact via email [email protected]
