MCI Update

The halls were buzzing with excitement last week as students prepared for our first “LIVE” concert in 2 years. Even though Buhler Hall was only filled with their fellow classmates and MCI staff (+ livestream equipment), there was a different energy in the space as the student performers shared their gifts. The livestream is available to view on our Facebook page, as well as the release of 2 music videos from our Jr. and Sr. Vocal Jazz Ensembles. My personal favourite was Resonate’s beautiful rendition of Amazing Grace (My Chains are Gone) – I highly encourage you to take a listen or even share with your congregation.

There have been significant stories of transformation and victory in our students during the first 2 months of our school year. There is much to celebrate – even in the last week alone!

  • Our Varsity Boys Volleyball team competed in the Zone Finals. Although they did not win, they secured a spot to play in Manitoba Regionals later this month).
  • The MCI Concert Choir was selected as 1 of 2 school choirs to participate in The Messiah/Complex with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra this December.
  • We held another successful AGM over Zoom – with little to no technical difficulties. We hope we can be together in person next year!

In the coming days and weeks, we ask that you pray for us in the following ways:

  1. For our Potential International Students. MCI has 4 students waiting on VISAs to come to Canada. Pray that there is movement in their paperwork so they can join us for the 2nd semester of classes.
  2. For our dedicated staff. Public Health restrictions have placed more limits on staff for classroom management and implementing creative learning opportunities.  Please pray for continued energy and strength as our staff go above and beyond to make MCI positive environment for students to learn and grow.

Giving Tuesday: November 30, 2021

  1. This Giving Tuesday we invite you to join us in raising funds for our Dormitory Lounge ReFresh. In 1993 a new dormitory was built on the MCI campus. 3 decades of students have made this space their home. Join us in raising funds to renovate this space for our students to live in and enjoy for years to come! While we welcome gifts every day, we invite friends and family of MCI to support us in these projects on this special day!
