MCC Update

MCC Update

Peace is more than a wish, it’s what we do. This phrase feels especially poignant this week as we reflect and commemorate Remembrance Day. It is my prayer that you and your church would be able to meditate on Jesus’ message of peace and share that love in your communities.

November is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. And MCC Manitoba is inviting church leaders to a two-part webinar series, offering responses to domestic violence in Christian contexts that open doors to healing and hope. Morning webinar sessions will take place on November 17 and 24. For more information click here or visit mccmb.ca/events.

Resilience and hope in Latin America. Join MCC area directors Cesar Flores and Lizette Miranda for a 7pm webinar on November 18. They will share an update on creative relief responses to the August earthquake in Haiti, as well as stories of hope, resilience and faith in local communities. For more information click here or visit mccmb.ca/mcc-webinar-series.

Find the perfect locally-made gift at the Christmas Craft and Quilt Sale for MCC! Shop and support MCC’s sewing kits and material resources. Saturday, November 27, 9:00am – 4:00pm at Bethel Mennonite Church, 465 Stafford St, Winnipeg. All COVID-19 protocols apply, masks and proof of vaccination required.

A big thank you to everyone who participated in Buckets of Thanks this fall!

Together, Manitoban churches, schools and families contributed over 230 buckets to bring comfort to families affected by crisis and disaster. We’re so grateful for your tangible support, reminding people around the world that they are not forgotten. We couldn’t do what we do without you!
