Mennonite Church Manitoba Update

Mennonite Church Manitoba Update

We wish to recognize and offer our sincere blessings to the following pastors who are retiring this summer: Kathy Koop, First Mennonite, and Harold Peters-Fransen, Elim Mennonite Church.

Pastoral ministry is relational work that is rooted in Christ’s love for the world and MCM is deeply appreciative for all its Pastors that serve in Christ’s name. We express gratitude to the Pastors and congregations for the ways that God’s love is being lived out both locally and beyond.

MCM would also like to express thanks to those who are transitioning from full time pastoral work to a new stage of life. We thank you for your ministry and for your continued commitment to the church.

Summer Reflection

Michael Pahl, Executive Minister

We’re in the dog days of summer, a second COVID summer marked by heat waves and wildfires. How is your spirit? The Psalmist says to his own downcast soul, “Put your hope in God” (42:11). As Christians we are called to inhabit hope, to practice a resurrection hope in the God who “brings life from the dead and calls into being that which does not yet exist” (Rom 4:17). Spend some time this summer reflecting on the ways in which God has done these things in your life, and let’s encourage one another in hope.
