Join us for Labyrinth worship this Sunday, Dec. 1, 8am-12noon; Camp Roots 11 am

To usher in this Advent season we invite you to the worship centre on Sunday, Dec. 1 anytime between 8am-12noon with Camp Roots starting at 11 am.

When you arrive, help yourself to coffee, tea or hot chocolate, then you can choose to connect with others in the cafe and gathering area or find a quiet corner. When you’re ready, you can enter the worship center to walk a prayer labyrinth, to light a candle, to have communion, to draw, to journal, or to read a scripture text and reflect on a few questions. You may choose to participate in any or all of these options. All options will be self guided with no right or wrong way to participate.

What is a labyrinth? A labyrinth is an ancient symbol that relates to wholeness. It is a meandering but purposeful path that combines the imagery of the circle and the spiral, leading to the centre and back. It is different from a maze which has dead ends and false passages. The labyrinth is one path, representing a journey to our own centre and back out again into the world.

Why walk the labyrinth? You may simply be curious. You may walk the labyrinth to help bring quiet and peace to your mind. You may be facing a decision and walking the labyrinth may help bring clarity. You may use it as a tool to connect to your deeper self. You may use it as a way to enter into a dialogue with God. Each experience is unique.
