MCI update

MCI Soup & Pie and Fall Concert – Friday, Nov. 1. Join us for MCI’s annual Soup & Pie Fundraiser. Supper will begin to be served at 5 pm. We will transition into Buhler Hall for the Fall Concert at 7:30 pm. This event is by donation.

Dear Church Partner: It is no secret that MCI is in the midst of a hard season. With low enrollment our staff and finances continue to be stretched thin. It can be easy to focus on the darkness, yet God calls us to the light. Even in the midst of difficulty, we have so much to be grateful for. The light of God continues to shine in our halls, in the extraordinary and in the mundane.

We felt your prayers during our Christian Life Retreat at Red Rock Bible Camp. Our theme of “taking off our masks” was embraced by our students. Three students shared in session about the masks they have worn, and in some cases continue to wear. Their bravery and vulnerability created a spark that spread throughout the rest of the student body. Our retreat was packed with meaningful conversations, relationship building and a lot of fun too! Check out this link to catch a glimpse of our retreat and hear from Guest Speaker, Peter Epp, about our retreat theme  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lX1myDCJx7s&feature=youtu.be

In the coming days and weeks, we ask that you pray for us in the following ways:

  1. For our current chapel series. This year our theme as a school is “Be Brave!” We have just entered a six-week series of focusing on Being Brave in relation to emotional health and managing anxiety. Pray that as a school we continue to be a safe space for difficult conversations, where students feel cared for and listened to.
  2. For safety for our students as they travel home for the Thanksgiving weekend. Pray that our students will have a meaningful thanksgiving, connecting with their family and home churches – and for our international students, who will be staying with their host families for the first time this year, that they feel welcomed and included.

Thank you for your ongoing support of MCI!
