This Week @ Seeds…

Holy Week – This week is often called Holy Week, leading up to Good Friday and Easter Sunday. We invite you to take some time to contemplate, reflect and invite Jesus to meet you on whatever journey you’re on. To help in this process, the worship centre will be open every day 7-8 am Monday-Friday and 7-8 pm Monday-Wednesday for you to walk the prayer labyrinth and/or to take some time to reflect in a quiet space. All are welcome.

Maundy Thursday Supper & Dessert Potluck 6 pm @ the eXchange – You are invited to come and enjoy a simple meal and Tennebrae Service. Supper will be provided…please bring a dessert to share. If you desire, you are invited to enter the worship centre after supper to walk the prayer labyrinth, light a candle, journal, or just sit in a quiet space.

Easter Sunday – 10 am Breakfast Potluck. Please bring a platter of cheese, fruit or baked goods, ready to serve for the breakfast buffet. Worship Service begins at 10:45 am as usual.

What is a Labyrinth? A labyrinth is a prayer walk, symbolizing a desire to walk to the center…to our center, and to God’s center. To walk the labyrinth is to intentionally dial down all the other voices that cry for our attention, and to simply clear a space where we just put one foot in front of the other with an intention to find rest in the center of God’s heart. You can walk the labyrinth with a friend, with a child, or on your own.

What is a Tenebrae Service? The word “tenebrae” comes from the Latin meaning “darkness.” The Tenebrae is an ancient Christian Good Friday service that makes use of gradually diminishing light through the extinguishing of candles to symbolize the events of that week from the triumphant Palm Sunday entry through Jesus’ burial. This increasing darkness symbolizes the approaching darkness of Jesus’ death and of hopelessness in the world without God.
