Headlines may be dominated by the events that unfolded in Charlottesville, VA, last weekend, but it isn’t the only place where violence is taking place. A recent attack by gunmen in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, killed a number of people. Two of those were Canadians Tammy Chen and Bilel Diffalah. Chen taught at the International School in Ouagadougou. She had a special connection with Nancy Frey and Bruce Yoder, Witness Workers in Burkina Faso. She taught social studies to their children, Jeremiah and Deborah, and she was Nancy’s colleague. We are seeking more information about the events in Ouagadougou and will offer updates as we are able. May God’s light speak into hearts of darkness.
